Eagle Flight website gets a new look!

Pilots take no joy in walking.  Pilots like flying.  - Neil Armstrong

One of the most important tools a company can own is its website and domain name.  Only a decade ago, many companies relied on finding the best location on a heavily traveled street or having a good clientele base that could, and would, spread the word about their growing company.  Now days, almost every home and business in United States has at least one computer on site, allowing small companies to take their business straight from their spare bedroom office to the frontline, delivering their message to thousands of potential customers!

While attending AirVenture 2004 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, media and logistics specialist Stacey Commer and I visited with many potential sponsors and received a lot of raised eyebrows and several warm responses when we told them about our intentions of a world flight.  We received enough positive feedback to decide to go ahead with the Eagle Flight mission.  Stacey and I both knew that our first priority would be getting a website designed and online as soon as possible so that our potential sponsors had a place to go and learn about our mission, the Eagle Flight team and how they could benefit by becoming a sponsor for our incredible journey.

Once I returned to Boise, Idaho my task was to find a webmaster that would be willing to sponsor three unknown aviation enthusiasts who wanted to fly around the world spreading the religion of aviation to youth.  I called Scott, my computer repairman at Quick Internet, Inc. (who hosts the Eagle Flight website as a sponsor) and asked if he could recommend someone that could design our website and he immediately recommended Webmajik of Meridian, Idaho.  Scott had the telephone number ready, I wrote it down, prepared my sponsorship speech and called.

President of Webmajik, Alex Conger answered the phone and I briefly explained who I was, what the Eagle Flight project was, and then proceeded to ask if he might be interested in sponsoring our project.  I was still explaining a few of the details when Alex interrupted me and said, "Sure - when can you come by and give me the details?"  With that, our first official sponsor was on board and I could not have asked for a more professional and friendly company to work with.  John Parton, the General Manager of Webmajik, handles our updates and changes extremely fast and Alex is always there to offer advice and answer questions.

As I have said many times, great ideas are born every day, but it's the people involved with the ideas that make them a reality.  I would like to personally thank Webmajik and Quick Internet Services Inc. for believing in our project and sponsoring us for the past year.  We couldn't have done it without you.
