About Us

How does the Eagle Flight pay for it's endeavors?

Pilots take no joy in walking.  Pilots like flying.  - Neil Armstrong

The Eagle Flight is a Non-Profit Organization that began seeking personal and corporate sponsorships in 2004 as well as holding fundraising events in both the United States and Canada. All funds raised through sponsorship, fundraising, and individual and corporate support go towards paying for the day to day costs of operating a world flight.

Costs range from a few cents for pencils and other office equipment to hundreds of dollars for aeronautical charts and thousands of dollars for the fuel the Eagle Flight will burn while flying throughout this endeavor! Companies such as Utah Valley State College, West Mesa Aviation, R&M Steel and Northwest Appraisal Company have donated thousands of dollars to the Eagle Flight project.

The Eagle Flight has many companies sponsoring the team through equipment donations such as Artex, a Chelton Company, who donated a new digital Emergency Locator Transmitter for the world flight, to Seattle Avionics who donated flight planning software for the 2005 United States Phase I tour. Other corporations such as Pepsi have donated products to sell at fundraising events and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) donated cloud posters to give to each child Jared flies over the three year duration of the Eagle Flight project.

The team also raises funds through selling tee shirts, patches, globes and other miscellaneous items such as Wing Names, where individuals have the opportunity to place their name on the wing of the aircraft that will travel the world in 2006.

The Eagle Flight is still actively seeking sponsors for the global circumnavigation and will be holding various events for media and advertising opportunities. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor at any level, please visit our sponsorship page.

With out the generous support of the community and our supporting companies, The Eagle Flight would have never taken flight. Thanks to them, hundreds of children from around the world will have the opportunity to climb into the cockpit and reach for the sky!
